Work History: Jonathan Musicco – Geological Engineering Technologist
Over 18 years in the mineral exploration industry working in greenfield – brownfields and urban mining operations in hard & soft rock diamond drilling campaigns in all of Canada’s Arctic territories and many provinces. Liaison to drilling companies and the client, ensuring a safe and productive work site is paramount in all seasons of field work. Trained at the start of my career with global mining producers establishes “best practice” for industry training and acquiring key mineral exploration training modules. Over 120K meters of lithological logging and sampling within Ni-Cu-PGE, BIF’s, Li-Cs-Ta pegmatite and Au-Cu deposits. Greater than 100k meters of geomechanical core logging & rock mass characterization, on occasion, request to collect UCS, tilt-test-, direct shear and Brazilian whole core samples. Extensive experience working with point load tester collecting diametral, axial and lump rock sampling. Working knowledge collecting specific gravity and magnetic susceptibility drill core measurements. Managed and executed channel sampling programs within remote arctic regions as well as green and brown field exploration outcrops.
A 12-month drilling program with SRK Consulting Ltd.(Canada) field managing three operating diamond drills performing orientation drilling, confirming alignment marks from each shift and drill to ensure clients project capitol is being maximized. Provided geomechanical core logging and generating whole core sampling.
With 18 years of a prior technical trade background, I’ve designed-built and operated core cutting facilities, core logging shacks and organized core farms and laboratory pulp reject library.
